Onboarding a remote contributor in five steps

HR launches Q2 2026. The flow below is what early-access teams will run from day one — built for distributed organizations that pay contributors in stablecoins, native tokens, or fiat across many jurisdictions.

  1. 01

    Send the offer

Pick the country, employment type (employee, contractor, EOR), payment currency, and pay cycle. Wag3s HR generates the agreement template pre-mapped to the right local employment standard.

  2. 02

Sign via EIP-712 (no smart-contract deployment)

The contributor signs the agreement with their wallet using EIP-712 typed data. No on-chain deployment, no gas fee, no custodial intermediary. The signature is the binding event and is anchored on-chain for verifiability.

  3. 03

    Auto-provision access and payroll schedule

The signed agreement triggers wallet whitelisting, role-based system access (via the RBAC layer), and the recurring payment schedule (monthly, bi-weekly, milestone-based, or custom).

  4. 04

    Run the payroll cycle

One-click payroll across the entire team. Each contributor receives in their chosen currency — USDC, EUR, USD, or native token — with FX handled automatically. Tax withholding is calculated per jurisdiction.

  5. 05

    Generate compliance and audit records

Every payment produces a tax-ready record (W-2, 1099, payslip, social-charge filing, depending on jurisdiction). Audit pack exports include the signed agreement, on-chain payment proof, and the full compliance log.

Pay the team where they actually live

HR is built for organizations whose contributors are not all in one country and not all paid the same way. The integration matrix is what makes that workable rather than a spreadsheet.

Payment currencies

Pay each contributor in their preferred currency — converted at signing or at run-time.

  • Stablecoins — USDC, USDT, DAI, EURC, USDe
  • Major fiat — USD, EUR, GBP, CHF, CAD, AUD, JPY
  • Native tokens — ETH, SOL, BTC, custom DAO tokens
  • Multi-currency split (e.g. 50% stablecoin / 50% fiat)

Jurisdictions

Local employment-standard templates and tax handling for 150+ countries.

  • EU 27 — France, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Netherlands, etc.
  • United Kingdom (PAYE for UK employees)
  • Switzerland (cantonal templates)
  • United States (W-2 employees, 1099 contractors)
  • Canada, Australia, Singapore, UAE, Hong Kong
  • Plus 130+ additional jurisdictions

Employment models

Map each contributor to the right model for their jurisdiction.

  • Direct employee (where you have an entity)
  • Contractor (1099 / freelance)
  • EOR (Employer of Record) — partner network
  • DAO contributor (no employer relationship)
  • Hybrid (full-time contractor with equity / token vesting)

Wallet and identity

Same wallet primitives as the rest of Wag3s, so contributors don't need a second account.

  • EVM wallets (MetaMask, Ledger, Trezor, WalletConnect)
  • Safe multi-sig
  • Coinbase Wallet
  • Phantom (Solana payouts)
  • Optional KYC layer (Sumsub, Persona)

Three concrete operating scenarios

30-person Web3 startup paying globally

Scenario A Series Pre-A startup with engineers across France, Portugal, India, and Argentina. Half are full-time, half are long-term contractors. Some prefer USDC, others want fiat in their bank account.

Outcome HR pays everyone on the same monthly cycle. Each person sees the right payslip in their preferred currency. The finance team gets one consolidated payroll register and the right per-jurisdiction tax filings.

DAO paying contributors and grant recipients

Scenario An L2 DAO with rolling grants and a stable core contributor team. Grants are milestone-based (paid on-chain when work is approved). Contributors are recurring monthly payments.

Outcome HR handles both — milestone payments triggered by governance vote and recurring payroll on a schedule. Token vesting cliffs are tracked. Every payment is anchored to the signed contributor agreement.

Distributed accounting firm hiring remote auditors

Scenario A crypto-native accounting firm hiring senior auditors in Switzerland, Estonia, and Singapore. Mix of full-time employees and project-based contractors. Compliance is mandatory.

Outcome HR routes each hire to the right employment model per jurisdiction, generates compliant agreements, and produces audit-ready records the firm can show to its own clients.
