Aave — lending protocol activity, decoded for accounting

Supply, borrow, repay, interest accrual, liquidation. We track each event correctly, on every chain Aave is deployed.

otherread-only sync Real-time

Aave is the largest lending protocol in Web3 by TVL, deployed on Ethereum, Arbitrum, Optimism, Base, Polygon, Avalanche, BNB Chain, and more. Each supply / borrow / repay / liquidation event is decoded into the right accounting category. Interest accrual on aTokens is tracked at every snapshot; flash loans are tagged separately; eMode (efficiency mode) and isolation mode positions are surfaced for review.

What the Aave integration does

Supply / withdraw with aToken tracking

aToken balance reflects accrued interest; we track the underlying-vs-aToken delta as interest income.

Borrow / repay

Borrow position tracked with accrued interest expense per period.

Liquidation events

Liquidation transactions tagged separately for the audit-trail review.

Multi-chain Aave coverage

Every chain Aave V2 / V3 is deployed on.

The connection in 4 steps

01

Connect your wallet(s) to Wag3s

No API key required for Aave. Paste the wallet address that interacts with Aave; Wag3s reads all positions and events on-chain via the wallet address.

02

Wag3s backfills historical Aave activity

All past supply, borrow, repay, withdraw, and liquidation events are decoded from Aave V2 and V3 contracts across every supported chain.

03

aToken interest tracked per period

The delta between your aToken balance snapshots is recorded as interest income. We handle the rebasing mechanism so accrual is clean and matches your period end.

04

Review classified activity and map to your GL

Each event type (supply, borrow interest, repay, liquidation) maps to a GL account. Review in the Wag3s workspace and post to your ERP.

Common configurations

DeFi-native treasury team

Protocol treasury holds ETH and USDC supplied to Aave V3 on Ethereum and Base for yield. The team needs to book interest accrual monthly and reconcile aToken balances against cost-basis. Wag3s tracks every snapshot and posts the monthly income JE automatically.

Web3 fund accounting team

Fund holds positions across Aave on Arbitrum and Optimism as part of a DeFi yield strategy. Borrows against supplied assets create interest expense that must be expensed per period. Wag3s decodes every borrow, repay, and accrual event and feeds them into the fund's QuickBooks or NetSuite subledger.

DAO treasury with leverage positions

DAO uses Aave eMode to borrow stablecoins against LST collateral. The finance workgroup needs to monitor health factor, track collateral value, and book both the borrow position and the interest expense. Wag3s surfaces position data and keeps the books current.

Aave integration questions

Does the Aave integration track health factor and liquidation risk?

Wag3s surfaces supply and borrow balances with current health-factor context. We flag liquidation events in the audit trail and classify them separately from standard repays. We do not send real-time alerts — use Aave's own monitoring for that.

How are aToken balances handled for cost-basis?

aTokens rebase continuously. Wag3s captures balance snapshots at configurable intervals (daily by default) and records the delta as interest income. The cost-basis of the underlying supplied asset is unaffected; only the interest component is added.

Is Aave V2 and Aave V3 both supported?

Yes, both V2 and V3 are supported across all deployed chains — Ethereum, Arbitrum, Optimism, Base, Polygon, Avalanche, BNB Chain, and others. eMode and isolation-mode positions in V3 are decoded and surfaced with the correct context.
