Arkham — counterparty labels for the audit trail
Arkham labels millions of on-chain addresses by entity. We use those labels to enrich the audit trail with counterparty attribution.
Arkham Intelligence maintains the largest on-chain entity database — exchange wallets, custody platforms, project treasuries, individual public-figure wallets. Wag3s uses Arkham labels to enrich the audit trail with counterparty attribution: a transfer to "Coinbase 12: Hot Wallet" reads more naturally than "0x71660c4005ba85c37ccec55d0c4493e66fe775d3" in an auditor's review.
What the Arkham integration does
Counterparty labels
Exchange, custody, project, and entity labels applied automatically.
Exchange flow attribution
Funds moving to / from named exchanges tagged for the right reporting bucket.
Audit-trail enrichment
Every export carries readable counterparty labels alongside hex addresses.
The connection in 4 steps
Add your Arkham API key to Wag3s
Generate a read-only API key in the Arkham Intelligence dashboard. Paste it into the Wag3s data-integrations panel. No IP restriction is required.
Wag3s enriches counterparty data in real time
As transactions are ingested from your wallets and custody platforms, we query Arkham to resolve hex counterparty addresses into entity labels (exchange, fund, protocol, known wallet).
Exchange flow attribution applied automatically
Transfers to or from labelled exchange deposit wallets are tagged with the exchange name and wallet tier (hot, warm, cold) where available from Arkham's database.
Enriched audit trail exported to ERP
The full audit trail — with readable counterparty labels — is available in every export format and in the JE posted to your ERP. Auditors see names, not addresses.
Common configurations
Treasury team needs to document that every crypto transfer landed at a known, labelled counterparty. Manual address lookup is impractical at scale. Arkham labels applied via Wag3s let the team produce a counterparty-annotated transfer report in minutes.
Compliance team is required to demonstrate that no transactions occurred with sanctioned or unknown-entity wallets. Arkham's entity database enriches the Wag3s audit trail so the compliance officer can filter and flag any unlabelled counterparties for manual review.
Arkham Intelligence integration questions
What happens if Arkham doesn't have a label for an address?
Unlabelled addresses are flagged as "unknown counterparty" in the Wag3s audit trail. You can add custom labels manually in Wag3s, which override the Arkham lookup for that address going forward.
Does Arkham labelling affect cost-basis calculation?
No. Labels are metadata only — they enrich the audit trail and export but do not affect transaction classification, cost-basis, or realized P&L computation.
Is the Arkham integration available without a paid Arkham plan?
Arkham's free tier API has rate limits that may be insufficient for large wallets with many transactions. For production use we recommend an Arkham paid API plan; Wag3s surfaces a warning when rate limits are approached.
