Deel — global payroll reconciled with crypto treasury
Deel handles EOR and contractor payroll across 150+ countries. We reconcile Deel disbursements with the source treasury — fiat or crypto.
Deel is the most-used global payroll platform for distributed teams. EOR (Employer of Record) and contractor payments are processed via Deel; many Web3 teams pay a portion of compensation in stablecoins. The integration with Wag3s reconciles Deel-side disbursement records with the source treasury (Mercury / Qonto for fiat, on-chain wallet for stablecoin) and produces the unified payroll cost per period.
What the Deel integration does
Deel API ingest
Contractor and EOR payroll records.
Fiat ↔ crypto payroll reconciliation
USDC contractor payments tied to on-chain disbursement; fiat payments to bank statement.
Per-jurisdiction tax classification
EOR payroll classified per jurisdiction for the right local tax treatment.
The connection in 4 steps
Authorize Wag3s via Deel API
In Deel settings, generate an API key or authorize via OAuth. Wag3s requests read-only access to payments, contractors, and invoices endpoints. No payroll creation or modification scopes are requested.
Contractor and EOR payment records ingested
Wag3s pulls Deel's full payment history — contractor invoices, EOR payroll runs, expense reimbursements — classified by payment type, jurisdiction, and currency (fiat or crypto).
Crypto payroll disbursements matched to on-chain
USDC or other stablecoin payments processed via Deel are linked to their corresponding on-chain transaction. Wag3s ties the Deel payout record to the wallet-level disbursement, closing the payroll loop.
Unified payroll cost per period posted to ERP
Fiat EOR, contractor fiat, and crypto contractor payments are aggregated into a single payroll cost JE per period, mapped to your GL accounts and posted to QuickBooks, Xero, or NetSuite.
Common configurations
Startup has 30 contractors across LATAM, Asia, and Europe paid monthly via Deel — 60% fiat, 40% USDC. Finance team needs the USDC disbursements matched to on-chain transfers and the full payroll cost booked in one JE. Wag3s reconciles both sides and posts the unified cost to QuickBooks.
DAO uses Deel to manage formalized contributor relationships with EOR contracts for core team. Grant payments in USDC are tracked on-chain; Deel handles compliance. Wag3s links the Deel invoice to the on-chain USDC transfer and books the grant expense with the right GL classification for the foundation's report.
US-based Web3 company hires international contractors via Deel EOR. Tax withholding and 1099 / 1042-S reporting requires accurate record of crypto vs fiat compensation per contractor. Wag3s tracks the split per contractor and feeds it into the tax-reporting workflow.
Deel integration questions
Does the Deel integration support crypto contractor payments in tokens other than USDC?
Deel currently supports USDC, BTC, and ETH as contractor payment options. Wag3s ingests whichever crypto Deel disbursed, classifies it correctly, and reconciles to the on-chain transaction regardless of the token.
How are Deel EOR employer costs (social charges, benefits) handled?
Deel reports the gross employer cost per EOR hire, including local social charges and benefits. Wag3s books the full employer cost as a payroll expense, with the local-charge component split into the appropriate sub-account for your jurisdiction.
Is payroll data kept confidential in the Wag3s workspace?
Yes. Payroll data is handled under the Wag3s DPA with access scoped to the workspace owner and authorized finance team members only. Individual compensation data is never surfaced in aggregated reports or ERP exports.
