Aragon — modular DAO governance, books that match

Aragon's plugin architecture means every DAO is structured differently. We adapt — treasury, voting, membership all decoded into one audit trail.

governanceread-only sync Real-time

Aragon offers a modular DAO framework with plugins for governance, treasury, membership, and access control. Each DAO can compose its own setup. The Wag3s integration handles the variability — we ingest the DAO's plugin configuration and decode actions accordingly, linking treasury movements to the governance plugins that authorized them.

What the Aragon integration does

Plugin-aware action decoding

Treasury, voting, membership plugin actions all decoded.

Multi-DAO support

Single workspace can ingest from multiple Aragon DAOs.

On-chain reconciliation

Aragon-reported treasury balance reconciled against on-chain truth.

The connection in 4 steps

01

Connect your Aragon DAO address

No API key required. Paste the DAO address (Aragon OSx plugin manager) or individual vault contract addresses. Wag3s reads all plugin configurations on-chain.

02

Wag3s decodes the plugin configuration

We inspect the installed plugins (Token Voting, Multisig, Admin, SpendingLimit) and decode each executed action with the correct context for that plugin type.

03

Treasury movements linked to governance actions

Disbursements from the DAO vault are linked to the governance proposal that authorized them — same workflow as the Safe + Snapshot integration.

04

Review and map to GL

Classified treasury movements are mapped to your chart of accounts. Post to your ERP or export for the quarterly foundation report.

Common configurations

Protocol DAO with on-chain treasury

DAO holds ETH and protocol tokens in an Aragon OSx vault. Each spending proposal executed via Token Voting is decoded, linked to the proposal, and booked as an operating expense or grant disbursement. The foundation's accountant reviews a clean, proposal-linked ledger instead of raw hex transactions.

Sub-DAO managing ecosystem grants

An ecosystem grants committee runs as a sub-DAO with its own Aragon vault. Wag3s ingests activity from the parent DAO and sub-DAO vaults separately, reconciles intercompany transfers, and produces a consolidated report for the main foundation.

Aragon integration questions

Does the integration support both legacy Aragon (Aragon Court) and Aragon OSx?

The primary focus is Aragon OSx, the current modular framework. Legacy Aragon App deployments (pre-OSx) are supported on a best-effort basis for historical backfill, as the contract interfaces differ significantly.

What happens when a plugin is upgraded or replaced?

Wag3s re-reads the plugin configuration whenever it detects a change in the plugin manager. Historical activity attributed to the old plugin is preserved; new activity is decoded against the updated plugin interface.

Is the integration read-only?

Yes. We connect via the wallet address and read on-chain state. We never request signing rights on the DAO or any proposal submission capability.
